This is basically the same as the last video only that I decided to experiment and try out my new Bodhrán. Trying to sync the two videos and audio tracks was a nightmare. So at times the timing of the bodhrán sounds a little off, I do apolagise for that!

Please excuse the crappy bodhrán playing but its not bad after just one week of learning to play!

Any comments would be appreciated.

  • Playing a percussion instrument without knowing how to keep time is like sailing a fancy ship with a big hole in it; It doesn't matter how many fancy gizmos you've got attached, people just ain't gonna ignore that big hole.

That being said, it wasn't THAT bad, just need a bit of practice.

  • Our advice would be to play and enjoy yourself! Asking for advice on YouTube is like going boating in a cesspool--too many turds!

  • Whistle good, you're missing out on the downbeat because I think you're tensing your wrist too much and thus striking out harder which means its hard to come out of the first beat of each bar.

  • Well I'd say after only a week of playing the bodhran you're doing pretty good! Keep going!!

  • The whistle playing was very nice.

I'm no bodhrán player but it sounded a little off. It might have had something to do with the recording, but it sounded kind of harsh and there wasn't a lot of resonance. Also, the timing was off. But work on that and you'll be excellent at both.

  • bodhran not sounding so good.

  • So do I. They sound like so much fun to learn.

  • Not going lie, love your music and playing. But the percussion is way to harsh. listen to the more wavy beefy sounding bodhrán playing which dosent only focus on the hitting. im not a player myself so excuse me terminology. keep playing the irish music! love it, but work on the bodhran

  • Hey, you need a better bodhran-skin , the sounds of our bodhran are realy bad.

    You have played well.

  • try searching it on google.
