Why I would use Blu-Ray? Because if there's a movie I really like, I'd like to be able to have a permanent, durable copy to enjoy whenever I want.
You can't count on an on-demand service to keep something up indefinitely because they won't. And copyrighted movie downloads may have DRM and lack FAIR USE RIGHTS.
*I* prefer DISC.
And I'm a Mac user (as well as Windows and Linux). But, for watching movies and TV shows, I still rely on a TV and a digital surround sound system.

@GarabatoxTut Who would use blu-ray? Countries without excellent internet infrastructure where often 20gig is your monthly internet data allowance. And when a 1080p film is 10-15Gish for a nice quality one. Well the Blu-Ray sans the compression is mighty appealing.

@GarabatoxTut I also noted you avoided all my comments on the HUGE price disparity of apples hardware components and it's incompatibility with many software. Fun software like Battlefield 3.
