this 2 second video is the best and most informative of all. ive had plantar fasciitis for almost 2 years and when you r playing sports this is the best thing to do. and it also doesnt hurt to use wraps after you tape it if its real bad. thats what i do.

I suffer from this really bad. I bought the heel pads, but instead of taking the pain away, it made it worse. Thanks. I'm gonna try this :)

Thank you. Heel has been hurting for 1 year now. Will try this. Thanks

It's the only thing that worked for me too. Most people try to reduce the impact by using cushioning, but that doesn't do anything for the tearing the fascia is subjected to as the fascia gets stretched with each step. The tape takes up the force usually absorbed by the damaged fascia and the fascia eventually heals.
DO I flatten my foot before taping? DO I arch the foot before taping? Please advise... Thanks

I generally had it in a normally relaxed position -- not too flat, not too arched. The idea is that you're helping the plantar fascia hold together with the lengthwise pieces, then supporting the arch with the crosswise pieces. Hope that helps!

In retrospect I would probably wrap some of the arch-supporting pieces all the way around the foot, because over the course of a 1.5-hour tennis game the tape would lose its sticking power and come off, so I'd lose the support after about an hour. But it's still better than just cushioning the heel -- and much better than just painkillers, which stop working if you don't treat the underlying problem.

I hope it helps -- if you only saw the video an hour ago you probably haven't had a chance to try it yet. Be sure to ice your feet very well after your workout, too -- take your laptop, if you use one, and sit for a good half-hour with ice on your feet and your face in the web (or a good book) even before you leave the facility, and your feet will thank you.
