@three0234 when u are talking to a person who younger than you,you dont speak "Dạ",that word only use to talk to a person who older than you.it's respectful.

@manicmuffin Uhn...This is Southern Vietnamese. In Ha Noi or anywhere on the North, we don't say: Da for any body. Da on North is to say yes, respecting someone. Yes like talking with friends is U`.

Thanks for the videos! The alphabet is so confusing! I wouldn't know that "Da" is pronounced "Yeah" If I tried to learn from a book, I'd be going around Vietnam saying "Da" to everyone and they'd be like, "WTF, this isn't Russia."
