  • My comment above was because I read some comment saying that Mr. Lanza had a feeble singing voice! Can you imagine anyone saying such thing of a voice of this magnitude?!? Incredible really, being a proven fact that his was possibly the most powerful tenor voice of all times

  • Sounds much better in neopolitan, check it out.

  • Mr. Lanza's voice is so beautiful that it can overcome whichever lyrics he sings even the most ugly ones if those ever existed which is not the case here or in any song of his repertoire He could very well be singing the same word from beginning to end of a song and still be heard with awe and enchantment such is its magnificent power range and timbre

  • I just know this fills me with great joy.

  • beautiful absolutely beautiful i love this song

  • Obviously this isn't the same as the Neapolitan version, but I like Mario Lanza's English singing too. I find that a lot of operatic tenors sound silly when singing in English - namely those who don't really speak the language. Granted that Mario Lanza was an American, his Italian and Neapolitan were both perfect as well.

  • @31operafan true

  • @mauriciomille Caruso didn't record this, unfortunately. He should have. :(

  • @acla9000 agree with... it is napolitan...

  • did this version was sung by pavarotti or enrico caruso?...

  • HE IS THE BEST-

  • great voice, but... too bad there is no funiculi funicula

  • It's awesome, but in the Italian original would be greater.

  • Just so some commenters know: These are english words to the music for funiculi funicula but not a translation of the Italian, which amusingly enough is essentially a jingle for a cable car (a funicular car). I quite like both the english and italian versions myself but never think they are the same song, just the same music.
