Modeling with 3-D CAD and prototyping with 3-D printing saves time and gives a better result than pretty much any other option. This is a short treatment of what was involved in modeling and prototyping a bracket for a diesel engine swap in my 1965 Ford F100 pickup.
This video goes along with my "Bracketology" column in the January 2012 issue of PopSci.
We used Alibre CAD and 3D Systems printers.
