On February 19, 1978 Hosono invited Sakamoto, a keyboard player graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and Takahashi, a reputably skilled drummer to his house to discuss about his idea. At the time both two were frustrated about being a session musician and were open to new things. Takahashi especially was excited about the meeting.
