Star Wars: The Old Republic - Timeline trailer 12: The Great Hyperspace War

BTC 1347 -- When two hyperspace explorers stumbled onto the remote world of Korriban, they never could have guessed the chain of events they were setting into motion. Over the previous centuries, the Sith Empire had grown in size and strength, and Korriban was the very heart of its dominion. The reigning Sith Lord, Marka Ragnos, had just died, sparking a brutal power struggle between rivals Ludo Kressh and Naga Sadow. The explorers' arrival marked the first contact between the Republic and the Sith Empire, and it created at an opportunity to end the power struggle. Naga Sadow seized the moment and rallied the Sith for a pre-emptive strike against the Republic under his leadership. The ensuing series of battles saw the Republic nearly destroyed, but Naga Sadow's machinations ultimately backfired, and the Republic drove the Sith back to Korriban. The Supreme Chancellor then directed Republic forces to ensure the Sith never returned... by annihilating their civilization entirely—a move which would ultimately come back to haunt the Republic centuries later...

Wookipedia reads "Bioware has confirmed a projected spring 2011 release", so they still have 3 days or so. If it doesn't come out by then, I'll have myself cryogenically frozen cause I can't bear the waiting any longer.

@wm927 My guess has always been Q4 2011. I think it'll be out either December or January. That's just me though.

@Jarrkha And the Golden Sith "Empire" wasn't even remotely close in achieving victory over the Jedi and the Old Republic.

Not that the same could be said about the Exar Kun war and the decades that followed though.

@triforceofcourage111 so the republic could have prevented future wars with the sith if the chancellor hadnt order the military to commit mass genocide on the people of korriban if he didnt then the jedi would only have to deal with the sith jedi and not an army and they wouldnt have been hunted down in the jedi purge during the clone wars so basically everything that happen later after this war was the chancellor of this timelines fault

its simple enough, the ancient looking armor and weapons are in fact specifically designed to look like that so you will know it took place ages ago. In fact those 'spears' are force staffs capable of cutting through solid rock, the republic has always been an interstellar government.

@deathsythe12 can u explain this timeline to me why do the sith and republic have swords and spears but they also have starships is this suppose to be a cross between the roman era because the republic soldiers that are shown near the end breaking into a house and their wearing roman looking armor can u please explain this
