I didn't say the Monarchy was superior to parliament. It quite clearly isn't, I know that. It does, however, have considerable power that just isn't used most of the time.

@bobbyjumper You do realise that the political system of Britain has had more power than the queen since their revolution. The Queen can do nothing more than vito a few bills or dissmiss members of parliament, even these acts can be repealed by the British political system if it is in it's interest.

She does have a job, it's being the Queen of 16 countries.
The only reason She doesn't exercise Her powers is because she chooses not to. She once dismissed the Australian PM and there was a bit of a backlash. From then on She has tried to stay out of politics.
Tell me the Monarchy has no power whe Charles becomes King, you'll see.

@bobbyjumper the queen doesn't have a job lol... she is just a figure with no political power... in other words, she is useless.

Very nice
Amazing how Rick can take most any political picture, attach some absurd idea to it, and make it just a reasonable as the reality!

@stephang4g In short, the queen is more of an iconic figure than a working politician, she deserves respect for making political statements and attending international conferences such as the G8 but overall, the monarchy is not superior to British parliament.
