Windows Security: Find Your Open Ports

My first computer tutorial is a basic explanation of how to find what ports are open on your computer so you can work out how to close them.

I check netstat through MyLanViewer, it is very convenient to view listening TCP and UDP ports for each process separately.

@ibbi270 The more ports you have open, the more chances for someone to gain access to your system. Less is better.

ok im not sure if you can help but im desperate lol...i used to be able to host games on battle.net and one day the internet stopped working so i had to reset my IP, and ever since i couldnt host and iv tried reporting to 6112 and it says there is already a port to 6112, but then i use a portchecker and it say my port is not open or not reachable.....pls help
