It depends on what brand you get. I'd say if you really want screen protectors make sure they're official Nintendo ones because one time I got some that weren't official and all they did was make it impossible to use the touch screen. And when I took them off they left a sticky residue that took forever to get off. I'd say just make sure to take care of your ds and clean the screen with a damp cloth about once a week. The screen protectors are honestly more trouble than they're worth.
