I just got this Aiwa AD F770, and it did not work properly, though the deck looks so nice and clean. Though the FF and RW worked, they had very loud noise and the playback did not work at all. It turned out that the two belts were melt down, and fell off. I managed to get hold of a service manual and a set of belts. I opened up the top cover and got out the transport with great difficulties. But I finally reinstalled the belts and the deck worked perfectly again. This portion shows you the result of the playback portion of the repair.

  • @spannerworks1 I had 2 of these and F990 or so in 1990, beautiful decks but was not very reliable.

  • Hi

A great job on the Aiwa deck sounds great and a difficult deck to service by all accounts.

    Warm regards

    Richard
