@magnetmixer the beeping sound is his variometer.
its a vertical speed indicator, when it makes happy sounds you are going up, when it makes sad sounds you are going down

u sure that's a thermal, and not just ridge effect?

I hold a thermal just by feeling it.
Others said u have to brake less when the climbing increases, and brake more when the climbing decreaeses.
Finding the biggest thermals.... ask the birds ;-)

I was out gliding for the first time yesterday and we kept finding really strong thermals and we'd roll into a 60* bank and try to stay in it but we just kept losing them. How do you hold on to a thermal? How do you find the biggest thermals?
