Great song - I think David Foster was involved in the songwriting somehow. Another grand-slam writing victory for him. It's interesting how these guys play a song for so many years, and try to change it up so much, that the song eventually becomes unrecognizable to listen to from the original, just so the artist can avoid the boredom that must come from singing the same song the same way for 30-plus years. I wish they'd either do the song the "right" way, or do a new song. Just my opinion.
Was living in NY City clubbing until the early hours every night in the 80's.
Used to finish up with a pizza in Greenwhich Village and often saw Al Jarraeau. (I recognsed him from his 1976 album which I had). He was always so polite and unassuming.
i love this song i hope to here it in concert just fascinating song by Jarreau.
