Marco Porcu performs his original work "Sciamano" on solo guitar live in Padova, Italy on July 25, 2009.

Born in Milan, Italy, Marco developed a passion for music at a young age. He received his first guitar as a gift, at age 9, when he was enrolled into the Lainate Private School in Milan. While there, he studied both classical and contemporary music and was influenced by a variety of classical and modern artists. At age 17, he was introduced to the fire of flamenco jazz, as played by Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, and Paco De Lucia, and to the passionate tango music of Astor Piazzola. By age 21, Marco was composing.

  • you should be part of world sinfonia ;)

  • He is good guitarist. I don't want to compare him with Al Di Meola but i think that every musicant is unique.

  • Very talented player. Not too many of that level around in the acoustic field. I have been hoping for years to hear a new guitar trio with original material that could match the splendor of the " Al-John-Paco " one. I' ve heard many unsuccessful attempts( at least from my own point of view ). But i still think that even though there is only an extremely limited market nowadays for this music style we will see it happening in the future. Marco would easily qualify for one third of the project.

  • The character of this piece goes well beyond a few chord passages. That is like saying anyone that ever took "Am" to "G" to "F" to "E" is borrowing from Paco. I am sorry, but this is quite ludicrous, but thanks for acknowledging his personality. :))

  • not just chords, but even the whole chordal passages are from Al's well known performances..he added his pesonality to them:) and superbly:)

  • Al did not invent this style, these chords, or this picking technique!

  • very nice..just for a note..he's using almost the same chords and picking as Al Di Meola..I can hear Al's signature chords and picking almost everytime in his playing...super!

  • VERY BEAUTIFUL

  • Grande !!

  • This is a truly great piece, Marco!
