Do you mind if I ask you a few things about keeping bees? I'm very interested in getting started. I see that it looks like you just have them in your yard with neighbors in close proximity. Is this a problem with zoning or anything. Are you able to still maintain your yard with lawn mowers without upsetting them? I'm trying to get started but don't know if I can keep them on my property without having a lot of land. Thanks!

@PaintedRavensong I love talking about the bees! If the neighbors are worried, you need to check the zoning codes for your city. Some prohibit it, some restrict it, some don't mention it. I mow around the posts on the hive stands no problem. They might get nervous, but haven't bothered me. You don't need any more land than a place to put the hive and a flight path that doesn't cross a people-path.

@waynesb Did they change? Left in early 90's... at that time was *very* popular but not horridly expensive. Actually I'm mildly surprised they let me in at the time... I wasn't a member of the community back then. I am a "late bloomer". - Happy Spring to you two!!! - Stephie

Hahahahaha!!!!! I'm glad it happens to other couples too!!! Your yard so VERY cool! Love the bees. We have friends in PA that have them too and make their own honey. The Bay Area weather is to die for..especially when you live in NE Ohio!! Thanks for watching and making a video response. Hugs! Jim
