@ClearwaterMMA then how did she get so fit?

First of all, I love that belt. Unfortunately, in the 80s and 90s we were bombarded by messages that fat makes you fat. The reality is, calories make you fat. Yes, it's true that carbs can be a problem as well. Carbs that have no fiber and no nutrients are empty calories that leave you hungry for something else. So the million dollar secret? Put down the twinkies and eat some real, home cooked food. Do some exercise. Feel better. Take it from someone who has lost 100lbs and kept it off!

This is Susan Powter in the early 90's. Some of her facts have changed over the years, but she still continues to energize the public with a great point. When it comes to food and being healthy....you have a choice.

@ClearwaterMMA I'd love to see a paleo version of susan - so far lost 95 pounds on low carb, I'd sign up for that job once the weight's gone!

This is the program I gained 60 lbs on - while exercising 60-120 minutes a day. I guess we've all bought something we wanted to believe ** sigh ** now I've lost 112 lbs on Weight Watchers and have kept it over for over a year. "No shortcut to a place worth going!" (Beverly Sills)

Everyone complaining about this video needs to realize this was made in what, the 80s? Possible the early 90s? Back then people believed that all fat was the devil, but more recent research has changed that. You have to take the video in the context of the times.

I disagree about the olive oil. It's good for your hair and skin. A little bit of olive oil in a dressing or to stir fry is perfectly fine.
Fat isn't the problem. sugar and high glycemic carbs and proccessed foods are. this lady is clueless. low fat foods replace the fats with chemicals and sugar for taste. she eats bread. bread is a proccessed food. if i were you guys i wouldn't listen to this women. check out the paleo diet. it's based on real foods.

She is actually quite wrong on saying that you dont need the oils. Now I like susan and all but if she had some oil in her diet then her brain wouldn't be so all over the place. As oil is very good for the brain. But you need the right kind of oil and the right amount. This show was done for the masses on tv.. it isnt information you should base your diet on. Listen so suan on her own channel .. i am sure she isnt saying stuff like this anymore.
