ModRana is a school project I am on for the NLP laboratory of Computer Science Faculty of the Masaryk University in Brno ( http://www.fi.muni.cz ).
Modrana is based on Rana ( http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Rana ), an open source navigation software written in Python. The target platform are mobile Linux powered devices, but modRana can also run on normal PCs with Linux distros that can provide Python, PyGTK and Cairo, the only dependencies.
The map you can see is composed of T@H tiles from the OSM project. The routing is done using Google Directions API.
