Ron's Letter

Brief Summary: An AU Ron/Harry friendship video set near the end of GoF.

Harry recieves a letter from Ron. I don't want to spoil anything, so please view it. If you still don't understand it, scroll down for the full summary. There are also some notes below.

Summary: Harry finds a letter addressed to him in the Gryffindor Common Room from Ron. In the letter, Ron tells Harry how much he means to him, and how badly he felt after their falling out in the beginning of the year. Even though they made up, Ron wanted to do more.

So Ron enlisted Hermione's help and together they came up with a plan: using a potion Hermione made, Ron planned to swap bodies with Harry during the Third Task, thus sparing Harry from having to go through what was sure to be the hardest of the Tasks. However, after Hermione sneaks the potion into the Champion's tent, Cedric finds it and drinks it.

At this point, Harry starts to realize what's going to happen. Ron (in Cedric's body) tells Harry that he plans to go ahead with the plan and help Harry, as Cedric. He is writing the letter in case anything should happen during the Task. Of course, we all know how it ends. Ron concludes his letter by telling Harry that he is his best friend and he loves him.

Harry is distraught. He senses someone behind him and finds Hermione and Ron watching him apprehensively. Harry approaches them and desperately asks, "Ron?" Cedric, in Ron's body, shakes his head regretfully. Harry cries out in pain.

Notes: I know there's a lot of bromance in this video, but it's not meant to be slash. You can view it that way if you like though, I don't mind. ;)

I know Ron seems oddly emotional, but this is my understanding: Ron wrote the letter with the honest belief that nothing would happen to him and that no one would ever read the letter (if you're wondering, he gives the letter to Hermione and she sends it anonymously to Harry; I originally had that in the video, but it took too much time). He decided to put in his deepest feelings, which is basically, "I love you like a brother."

Canon tells us so many times, that Ron loved Harry as a brother.

And Harry loved Ron as his brother, but so afraid to even say it.

I think sometimes, when Harry tells Ron that he's going to ask Ginny to marry him.

And Ron hits him in the shoulder

"What's that for?" says Harry.

"I always wanted a lil bro to whip up on"

and they hug.

that was some horribly illogical fan fiction. poly juice potion only lasts a while so if Cedric was in rons body ,harry would've known once the effects wore off. you have to keep drinking it for it to continue. and you made harry and ron sound like lovers not friends.GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND READ THE DAMN BOOKS.

For someone who wants me to read (which, for the record, I have read all the books), you could give the Summary a quick look through. The potion is not meant to be Polyjuice Potion, it's just "a potion Hermione made"; in fact, the whole reason I DIDN'T make it a simple Polyjuice Potion vid was exactly the reasons you gave, which would make the whole thing impossible.
