Sport mode lets you rev the engine higher (esp. in econ mode), and on EX models it enables the paddle shifters. It'll get noisier, being a small engine, but you will notice better acceleration in sport mode, possibly even more so with the shifters.
Sport mode will also prevent the engine from shutting off at a stop, so it will consume gas as it idles.
I generally start moving in sport, then shift it back into drive when cruising or coasting. Maybe not the most efficient way, but eh.

Ik zal vast iedereen over me heen krijgen, maar vindt het wel een leuk autootje om te zien- dat dash met die blaadjes vindt ik net ff teveel van het goede. Tja, als ik met zo'n lage bijtelling zoiets kan rijden, who cares. Ik heb dan ook nog een andere auto prive..... en daarmee maak ik het rijden met een Insight weer goed/ brandtof/ bomen/ bos neutraal ;-)
