September 22nd, 2006, thousands gather on Parliament Hill wearing red to show support for the Canadian troops overseas and their families here at home. CFRA voices Steve Madely and Lowell Green took an idea started by two wives on the base in Petawawa and blow the doors open to help spread this concept of wearing red on Fridays as an idea for all Canadians to share nationwide. Non partisan, non mission oriented, the concept is just simply to show our troops that we care for them, we wish them safety and that our prayers are with them.
Part 7 is the Military head chaplin giving a speech, and the sea of red photo to be sent to the troops.
trustonlymulder,
thanks so much for posting this !! I was there and it was a proud moment for me and to see.
I am no fan of Harper or the conservtives, but damned if he isn't the one Prime Minister who has had the balls to want to invest in our Military, and for that he deserves Kudos !!
ON this date my nephew wasn't in the military yet, he is now over in Afghanistan.
