it's only epic fail if it is redrawn

Well, that was a depressing ending. Nobody even cares that Tootsie is dead. Not even Porky. Heartless bastard.

:15 to :45 is my favorite part! I used to watch this as a kid. Had it on the old VHS.

I love this cartoon. I used to watch it as a fascinated baby with a love for trains. Now I find it again on the wonderful Internet 14 years later. Even the young can love cartoons of old.

3:43 hidden reversed message.

lol "I bet she can't give sweet milk"

Anyone notice that the ship Porky's train jumps over at 5:39 says "S.S. Leon"? I guess it's a tribute to producer Leon Schlesinger.

@Camouflage16 Actually, this is a redrawn colorized version from 1968. It was originally released in black and white

I've always loved this cartoon, but it always bothered me that ol' "Tootsie" (#13 1/2) ended up in the junk-heap at the end; not a decent way to go for the engine that helped Porky gain the engineer's spot on "Silver Fish".
Although it pokes fun at just about every aspect of railroading, it's still dun to watch.
P.S. FYI, the show's "theme" music is "California, Here I Come", a popular tune at the time this was made.

Yep. Like Scottdavid said, cartoons were made for movie theaters. There wasn't much television to speak of until the late '40s, and it wasn't until the mid '50s that the average person even had a set. Mickey Mouse became an international celebrity during the Depression because he was a film star, seen in theaters right along with Chaplin, Bette Davis and Clark Gable. Same for Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tom & Jerry, etc.

does anyone remember the one where Porky is in some form of the military and he is asked to "SCRUB MY CAMEL" from the leader of the military, the guys chest was huge and adorned with medals and at the end porky had taken the position of the former leader...jivee123
Hello, does anyone out here recall one Porky pig cartoon that was in color, Porky had a chicken farm, and the hens were in a slump and weren't laying enough eggs, so he hires two crooner roosters, one sang like Frank Sinatra the other like Bing Crosby and they sing to the hens and make them crazy, what was the title of that cartoon?
