I tried to make contact with David about trying to help me find my family tree which leads me back to scottland. Im NZ maori but my grandad has scottish ancestry. it was very sad to get a response that david had died. I wish I meet him im sure he could have helped me out big time, RIP

One of the best. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be involved with Scottish culture at all. Thanks big man!! An inspiration to any Scot!!

I went with my daughters to see him at Dundee University when he was signing his book on WALLACE.
He picked up his guitar and Sang "Scots Wha Hae".
Wonderful,moving moment.
See you in a better place some day David.
