Twirling Guy, ya need to get a clue. You want to see professional dancers, watch a Russian company. You want the precision of fully trained dancers, go see a Russian based company. You want to see posers who call themselves professionals, go watch half of the regional companies in the US, and even some of the dancers in ABT.

They should prohibit anyone but Mariinksy Theater to dance the Swan Lake.
This performance is just ridiculous!

@Flipdance Sure, Russians are very good, but are atanomically incorrect. Many ballerinas in the Russian (Vaganova) companies get knee and hip replacements when they are in thier twenties and have to stop dancing altogether by the time they turn thirty. There are plenty of good, atanomically correct teachings, which is why Vaganova style isn't that great.

to early and they were sloppy (unrefined) the last one was always a step behind...i'd expect more form a pros

wow. i did this at an intensive class for a week during this summer. so intensive. hense the name.. haha. anyways it looks so easy, but its hard. we also did the little swan variation and that was alot harder though. that has alot of copas and little steps, while this has lots of leaps and jumps and arabeasks . this one is alot easier though.

I have to agree that in this especific performance they're not ensemble, but that doesnt change anything, they pefect tecnique and bodies, made a beautifull perfomance,,
-
All I'm saying is the ensemble isn't tight in this clip, Russian company or not.

If you are looking for precious dancers who are not fully trained artist/athletes, don't waste your time watching Russian trained dancers. Stick with ladida non-progressive dance from poorly trained American or English "schools". Second, you are wathcing a youtube video; everything looks sloppy on that.
