Budweiser the Clydesdale - ridden by Emily 4/26/09

Budweiser, my daughter's 7 year old Clydesdale, can be a handful to ride. At 18 hands, he's huge and powerful. Emily is 5'4" and petite. Guess who sometimes gets the upper hand? In this video Emily is riding at Jaycox Training Stables with encouragement from Scott, our friend and horse trainer.

yea id never let that girl ride any of my horses, maybe learn how to ride at a walk before you lope. poor horse, good thing drafts tolerate everything

I agree totally. Whoever the instructor is they are a complete moron. "Keep going, keep going" as she rips on the horses mouth. Jesus. Girl....learn to balance before attempting to canter or even trot for that matter.

he looks like a good boy...i used to be afraid of hourses, because their so big...but my best friend made me get on hers, after the second or third time i realized shes turning me into a freak...she gives me lessons once in a while and i always have a blast...i hope you keep riding

You cannot keep asking a horse for the canter while pulling on his reins. One day he's gonna get tired of the confusion and buck your daughter off. So would suggest putting a helmet on her..

Uhm.. I noticed that she's pulling on the reins A LOT.. I think the horse is doing exactly what she's telling him to, she just doesn't know what she's asking for.

@DolenRutledge the tallest horse is like 20 hands, no way a horse can be 30 hands. just sayin.

@DolenRutledge Haha since 18 hands is 6 feet at shoulder, its pretty impossible for any horse to be 30 hands at shoulder. I would say 18.2 - 19hh for this guy.
