Whoa... I have radically changed my views since the '08 primaries from pro-choice to pro-life. But, I think your tactic is a little off. Rudy Giuliani ran the city of New York in a VERY conservative fashion, a fashion that is admirable, despite his stands on gay marriage and abortion. Unfortunately, if you're protesting in an area that you may not be protesting in, then you are breaking the law, and I feel you should be arrested. Well, FUnewgay, he's not gone: his 2012 campaign is all setup
Too bad the cops didn't use deadly force in this arrest. It could have been labelled as a lesser included offense: disposing of garbage without a license.
I'm confused. I agree with the people defending the people in this clip; after all, it is wrong to arrest peaceful protesters. But why is it that the same people who endorse Randall Terry's civil disobedience express outrage when liberals do the same? Why is it that when a liberal peacefully protests, he's called a violent radical, while when a conservative peacefully protests, everyone knows he's peaceful? Why do conservatives not judge liberals by the same standard they do Randall Terry?
Nothing wrong with enforcing the law. These protestors knew full well that they would be arrested for trespassing - the arrest itself is part of their protest.
Anyone breaking the law should be treated the same way - which is to be charged. I do agree with your point about the double standard in terms of labelling the protestors based on political partisanship.
