My 1 year warranty expired in November of 2008 and by Murphy's Law it started giving me errors in February of 2009...right after the warranty expired. I'm a lucky guy.

I just checked xbox again. It is in fact the standard warranty which covers stuck like stuck disc trays. How long has it been doing it.

So you get over a year on the replacement console for other problems other than RROD? If that's the case, I may consider sending it cuz it makes grinding noises and doesn't wanna read discs.

I was faced with that same question. Luckily, mine went ahead and got the RROD. I still have one more year of warranty against the RROD. I got my replacement console September 15th. I checked the status and it expires November of 2010.

I have an open disc tray error and it turns out it'll cost me 100 bucks to fix it. Oh, boy! Apparently there's only a 1 year warranty on the console because they know it breaks so easily. I'm debating whether it's worth my 100 bucks or just getting a new one. Even if I get a new one what's the guarantee it won't break too? When you get it repaired, do they give you a 1 year warranty on your replacement console or not?

Well, the Arcade is basically same a the Pro now. It has HDMI. Plus, you keep your Hard Drive. Unless, you like the silver tray.

All you ship them is the console. You keep the HDD and and memory cards with you. I had an arcade model with the HDMI output. If you did get an arcade console, you wouldn't know it.
LOL...sounds about right.

Will they give you a replacement controller? If you send yours in, that is.

Nope, the replacement is for the console only.
