  • LOL...sounds about right.

  • Will they give you a replacement controller? If you send yours in, that is.

  • Nope, the replacement is for the console only.

  • My 1 year warranty expired in November of 2008 and by Murphy's Law it started giving me errors in February of 2009...right after the warranty expired. I'm a lucky guy.

  • I just checked xbox again. It is in fact the standard warranty which covers stuck like stuck disc trays. How long has it been doing it.

  • So you get over a year on the replacement console for other problems other than RROD? If that's the case, I may consider sending it cuz it makes grinding noises and doesn't wanna read discs.

  • I was faced with that same question. Luckily, mine went ahead and got the RROD. I still have one more year of warranty against the RROD. I got my replacement console September 15th. I checked the status and it expires November of 2010.

  • I have an open disc tray error and it turns out it'll cost me 100 bucks to fix it. Oh, boy! Apparently there's only a 1 year warranty on the console because they know it breaks so easily. I'm debating whether it's worth my 100 bucks or just getting a new one. Even if I get a new one what's the guarantee it won't break too? When you get it repaired, do they give you a 1 year warranty on your replacement console or not?

  • Well, the Arcade is basically same a the Pro now. It has HDMI. Plus, you keep your Hard Drive. Unless, you like the silver tray.

  • All you ship them is the console. You keep the HDD and and memory cards with you. I had an arcade model with the HDMI output. If you did get an arcade console, you wouldn't know it.
