How to Drive a manual transmission

Keeping your left foot on the clutch at all times is a very, very bad idea. Such a practice can reduce the amount of pressure (even the slightest amount) on the clutch decreases performance and fuel economy while increasing wear on the clutch itself. "Always using the clutch before pressing other pedals" is also an unnecessary rule of thumb. Compression can be aided by gently applying brake pressure when decelerating while in gear.

when starting your car why put your foot on the brake if your hand brakes on :S use the biting point on the clutch and keep your foot at that position, take your hand brake off, release your foot off the clutch slowly and away you go

NOTE: YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THE CLUTCH TO BREAK WHEN YOU'RE IN NEUTRAL! TRY IT, YOU WON'T STALL! DON'T WANT TO ALWAYS HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THAT CLUTCH

hard to understand you
are u stupid, keeping ur foot on the clutch all the time will burn out ur clutch.
when ur not using the clutch take your foot away and either put it beside (to the left) or on the dead pedal

I meant to rest your foot on the clutch. My pedal has enough tension that I can comfortably rest my foot on it without taking it out of gear. My car hasn't had any problems yet.
