He also played in a small Buddy Rich/Lionel Hampton band in 1978. The CD was under two different titles: "Lionel Hampton Presents Buddy Rich" and "The Sound of Jazz" - Featuring three tenors: Steve Marcus, Paul Moen and Gary Pribeck. They play "Moments Notice" and "Giant Steps" among others.

I first saw paul moen on the youtube video lionel hampton 1968 moments notice...I loved his solo so much, I would play it over and over again, until I had it memorized....but now that video is removed from youtube :(

paul moen has played with lionel hampton from 1976 to 1980. he was his musical director and sometimes arranger too : (moment's notice, giant steps, milestones, chameleon..). but paul has never played with lionel in 1968, because he was too young !
