Fund-raisers, supporters and ex-patients of the haematology unit at Northampton General Hospital have had their first glimpse of the new unit before it opens to patients on Monday.
The £2.2 million unit -- which will treat people with blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, is the subject of an 18-month fund-raising campaign by the Chronicle & Echo and Macmillan Cancer Support that has so far raised more than £850,000.
