Mark Shepherd performs the Allegro Maestoso from Louis Vierne's 3rd Symphony. Seen & heard is the superb Schudi installed in the Crypt of the Shrine in 1987: a prime demonstration that in the proper acoustics, 25 well-designed ranks will do just fine.
Mark Shepherd is Director of Music at Charterhouse, Surrey, UK. The concert was on July 9, 2009, & was part of a summer-long tribute to Pierre Cochereau. Mark's associate is Jeremy Filsell.
@pjdonagh I like that point.

Oops!! I didn't have my glasses on when I looked at the program ;-). Thanks for the heads-up. I'll change it. I was thinking to myself that I didn't remember the organ being there in the 70's/80's, when I was attending a lot more of the Shrine concerts than I am now.

25 well designed ranks are infinitely to be preferred to huge instruments of many ranks that are in most cases very badly designed!
This however is a gem.
Thank you for posting.
