Tai Chi Wrestling in Chen Village, China.

For a number of years i have been visiting China with friends and I do some training and sight seeing.In 2005 I trained in a Tai Chi school in the Chen Village.The practioners were very humble and modest about there ability.The School practiced the Chen family style of Tai Chi. Here is a little bit of footage of some friendly sparing.

The application side of Internal arts I feel like a lot of people is very much neglected in the uk.Pushing Hands Hard Chi Kung,silk reeling and the applications within the forms, often are left out. I some times believe many instructors just have a knowledge gap. As a practioner you have to further skill by ethir seeking out the additional tuition or seeking out additional teachers. Too much forms in Tai Chi. But I guess it what you want at the end of the day.

Yeah thats me in the Black,This is Chen Tai Chi. They have a big emphisis on the combat side. They do a lot of Pushing hands and a lot of wrestling and crampling techniques.

I dont think enough of this training is done in the uk, I think in the uk people are too scared of getting injured.Anyway i hope you enjoyed the clip.

Nice uprooting at :57! If you're the guy in the black, you've got nothing to be ashamed of, the Chen village people are awesome. Nice with the dropping throw too. Tai Chi is an endless pursuit, always keep it up, peace.

This from my visit in 2005, the carpet is still grungy and the toilets well they ahev to be seen to be belived. The Practioners are amazing though. humble, dedicated and true to there art.I have lots os footage I will have to upload them eventually.

Yes it is even worse in Australia, however in some areas we are lucky to have access to some great Wushu masters, however it is a big country and ultimately many Martial Artists are still in the dark when it comes to the applications of internal martial arts. Nice video, many thanks for sharing it, this video is one step closer in educating people to just how effective this great style is!

@smalltins Good on you for getting out there. You got thrown more, but what you will have forever is the technique that guy used against you and you'll have it in slow motion to watch over and over again. There is a precise triangulation which he uses.

Wow! Great video. Excellent technique and a good attitude about it. This is a great demonstration of Chinese Martial Arts.

Man those people were nice they seemed as if they were humble of the times they threw you down not at all cocky about it heck great video it shows both methods of throws works. Internal and External grappling but the extensive amount of training is the true difference not the type of martial art you train with in.
