You might be surprised to know that this guy started producing all these videos for FREE on his own time. Sure, he's gotten sponsors now, but you should be grateful that there are those out there willing to share what they know with those less knowledgeable.

Hi! I have a question.
When you shoot full ETTL mode, does PW calculates the flash distance from the subject? How does it work? Or is the distance the goes to the receiver the one calculated on the camera based on lens to subject? In this case how would you know the perfect distance between remote flash/subject?
Thanks in advance!

I just got my FLexTT5 and want to run my first flash off of my camera via a cord (STC). I do this now to set up my first SB900 as a master. I have been slaving my other flashes via CLS mode. I thought I could put a FlexTT5 on my first flash, have it fire iTTL, and the PW fire a second SB900 attached to a second FlexTT5. It doesn't seem to work. Seems that any flash in the shoe of the FlexTT5 is looking for the PW to feed it information via a radio feed. Or have I missed a setting somewhere?

mark can you use tt1 together with plus2 as a receiver?

The pocketWizards are the truth. If you have 2 580Ex ii I would trigger with nothing less. Just remember to use your updates when you first get them!

Wonderful tool.....but notice that because of the artificial lighting that several of the shots look as if she was droppped into a background with Photoshop.......just sayin' ......

the extra battery pack works well...if you want faster recycle on the flash unit...

Mark, what metering mode was your camera set at when shooting Christina? I tried a similar backlit shot and the background was totally overexposed. I photographed my model useing matrix metering, AV mode and Ettl on my 580EX Mk2.
I am a big fan. I learned a lot watching your videos. Did you use a light meter with that set up?

Mark: Will you try and take them on a racetrack, a difficult place (highspeed exp. anyway)? And also, if you do, please tell me how you prefer to set the camera up? I have just received my TT1 and two TT5's. I look MUCH forward to try them out next week...

what kind of racetrack? Horses, cars, dogs? What are you trying to capture. From what distance? :)

Were you shooting ETTL or manual on the flashes?

Full ETTL with no ratio control. Just super simple.
