  • I was 18 at the time. I remember watching the convention. Carter seemed like such a breath of fresh air and openness, but I realize that he was simply a curious side effect of Watergate. Without Watergate, no one like Carter could have been elected President. Carter is a self-righteous, conceited snob, and that characteristic doomed his presidency to failure. His foreign policy meddling since 1981, the year he left office, has inflicted immeasurable damage on the country and its people.

  • Since that election no Democrat has won Texas, Mississippi, Alabama or South Carolina......and only Bill Clinton has won Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana and Missouri.

  • Democrats can thank the Nixon Administration for Watergate for political reasons

  • After tricky Dick Nixon satan would have won that year...

  • Good clip.
