More of this quirky "game show"-esque bowling event, where three-member teams compete for cash prizes. Frames 1 and 4 are strike frames, where teams get one try to make a strike for 30 points. Frames 2, 3, 5 and 6 are spare or split frames. A conversion on the first try is worth 30 points, or 20 points on the second try. In the 7th and final frame, all three members of the team get to try for a strike, with each strike worth 40 points. The winning team gets one try at the "big money split," the 6-7-8-10.
In this second semi-final match, the team of Earl Anthony, Donna Adamek and Bob Strampe take on the team of Marshall Holman, Virginia Norton and Ed Lubanski for the right to advance to the final match.
Jay Randolph on play-by-play. Steve Neff on color. Golden Triangle Lanes, Irving, TX. Exact date unknown (shown on a tape-delay basis), Fall, 1979.
The "mighty mite", Donna. Great post.

Strampe & Lubanski...a rare sight on tape for us to see how the stars from way back delivered their shot. A bit different from some of the speed merchants nowdays.
