You have to give Color Dreams some credit, this is by far the most playable game they developed. It also helps that the developer (Michael Denio) of the MS-DOS version also wrote this version while he was in CD, but he left the group after they wanted to work on other projects. I guess this was the only time Color Dreams games were actually decent.

I always liked Captain Comic... The game was definitely too difficult, making it quite hard to progress, but I thought it was more interesting than Mario Bros. Some of the later powerups were permanent and you'd have to explore different levels at your own discretion, not be forced to shuffle to the right until you reach the goal. Amusingly enough, the castle at the right edge of the screen would surely kill you if you went there first.

Also, I rented this game when I was just a little kid because I thought it was Megaman 2. Man was I in for a harsh surprise. If I knew a girl who was THAT excited to play Captain Comic, I'd be afraid to even associate with her, even if she was super hot.
