omg this movie! i'm obsessed with secretariat after seeing it. i wish iw as around to see him race. he did the impossible and his records haven't been broken to this day. haven't even been APPROACHED. if ever there was a movie that taught you the value of believing in yourself and your instincts, this is it!

Not only did this movie made me cry of happpienes.. Butt when i grow up my goal is to have a throbreed farm.. Mabey a horse as good as secretariat!. I love this movie i want to watch it repeatedly it teaches uhow u can love animals more thn ur selfe and thtat u can do more then u expectided. I love this movie!

Yeah, Sec was never an "underdog"...he was created to destroy those records. And when he was healthy, he was a freak of nature on the track. Now I can see how the farm itself and Penny could be considered underdogs because they were about to go under when Sec was born, but someone would have gotten this horse, raced him, and he would have smashed records either way. We were just lucky enough to see him race with a team of great characters that believed in him.

@ickiepoo I agree, I loved the movie, it was very inspiring and touching even though I know some of the facts were "Hollywooded" but it captured the wonderful spirit of the whole story. However, the one thing I have always thought is that I wish they would recreated that Belmont race call exactly as it was.

This is truly an amazing movie, about an even amazing-er story, I absolutely love Secretariat, and man, do I ever wish I was alive to actually see him race...

@caliwaters88 I wouldn't say the movie was horrible, but you do make some good points! They totally missed the boat when it came to telling the story about the relationship between the public and secretariat. It was a cultural thing that only THAT generation got to experience. We'll never know what it was like for those who got to actually watch him race and feel the emotions of his victories!

@caliwaters88 penny chenery herself was in the movie and she is secretariats biggest fan do you think she would let them ruin secretariats legend? she even said she wants to pass on his legacy " correctly" she lives in colorado i think but she is still alive and healthy face your facts before you comment like that...

Wow, a bit bitter I see? How is this not an underdog story? How many horses have won all three races? It does not happen very often.
