  • Hi wtrprfr1. Again, thank you for your comments. What you have to remember is that you are installing the same system that has already failed. I am not saying that your way is wrong, just that I believe that our way is not only easier for the customer, but modern, a lot less hassel free and GUARANTEED. If anything, digging is the 'band aid' approach.

  • Folks: it all boils down to this...if you want someone like wtrprfi to wreak you garden with his car crash and frankly old fashioned out out of date approach, feel free to go ahead. Franky, I think you would be nuts! However, if you want something that is professional, modern and frankly superior, then give us a call.

  • Digging is the correct repair, period. If you care to speak to homeowners who have had to dig after having a water control system installed, please let me know.

  • Can I ask, in which part of the country do you live as this might help me understand your logic. We have NEVER had to have a home owner dig out a basement after we have done work.

  • @wtrprfr1 can you advise me of your locality, are you in the States or UK

  • I appreciate your comments on the title however, it’s a generic name, so please don't take offense. As for digging out, this is what most amateurs would do! You are going to replace a system that has already failed with the same system. I hope you can appreciate the flaws in this. All the best anyway. Give us a phone when it fails!!!

  • Should use round pipe along side inside footing better pitch and collects ground water

  • I really like that pipe design, very nice. You can do the same thing with mirror drain. Does running the pipe on top of the footer versus beside it provide enough pitch for drainage? Since the footer is level wont putting the pipe next to the footer provide better drainage? That drainage ring around the water pump is pretty slick too!

  • Structural waterproofing surveyors. Please! Just call what you do water-control and not waterproofing. It is easier to let the water in and pump it back out.

For my money, I'm digging to repair the problem, and keep the water out. Don't much care to have a sump pump in my basement either.

  • We are not saying that waterproofing is problematic. Thats why we have our modern water management system to waterpoof any leaking basement. Furthermore, we do not have sales people. Only fully qualified Structural Waterproofing Surveyors that design personalised water management systems. It might be worthwhile reading the BSI code of practise. We would say that its a system for cracking or shearing walls. Simply, its the most reliable way of keeping a structure dry as per BS8102
