My Newman Motor Replication...400 winds continuous bottom to top. Washers are used for the commutator with rubber tape as the separator between the washers. The shaft under the outside washer is half covered with rubber tape to produce the switch.

  • Some things to consider:

    (1) 1,200 to 1,600 winding per coil

    (2) Use 26 or 28 magnet wire

    (3) Windings need to be neatly wound and stacked

    (4) Square or rectangular wire produces 300% greater energy then round wire when wound neatly together

    (5) Washers are consuming to much energy from prolonged contact with shaft, also causing drag.

    (6) N42 or N52 Rare Earth magnets required

    (7) Over all coils are to far from magnet, IE wasted space.

    (8) Create wider flux field on rotor

    (9) Use ring bearings

  • can you draw a simple circuit diagra of your set up?
