I'm from the USA and this is the first real 'legal' show i've really watched and I'm impressed. mom got me started on it. their legal system is so much cooler (of course we have death penalty which comes in handy on rare occasion).

@pops4u95 That's because of how the remake process works. When an American show is remade in Britain, the program is kept as close as possible to the original to not scare of existing watchers, and welcome in new audience.
However, a large number of times when a British show is remade by the Americans, the production looks to improve parts of a program that doesn't need improvement to a point where it either spoils the gimmick or just makes it unwatchable. It's a simple matter of production.
