I really love the series(I love Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn), I just want to make this slideshow with my own choices.
King Henry VIII, his wives and his children

End title music: part of Tintinnabulum - composed by Karl Jenkins

Ages: (with changing hair and make-up of course)
Henry VIII young: Shia LaBeouf can play him from 18 to 35 years old
Henry VIII old: Tim Curry - from 45-50- to his death (age 55)
Catherine of Aragon: part of Henry's life since she was 16, when her first husband, H's brother died, and she must marry with H,but at that time he was just 11, so they waited for the wedding, she was 23 that time, she left the court in her late 40s and died at the age of 50;Kirsten Dunst can play her from 16 to 50
Mary I: Fairuza Balk - from 18-20 to her death at 42
Anne Boleyn: she first met H when she was between 18 and 24,she died between the age of 29 and 35;Heather Graham can play all of these ages
Elizabeth I: Hilary Swank - from 20 to her death at 69
Jane Seymour:she met H when she was 28,she died at 29;Kristen Bell is 28 now

  • My cast would be as follows:

Henry- (young) Robert Kazinski and you cant beat Ray Winstone as older Henry with the transfortmation taking place after Jane dies

KoA- Nicole Kidman or Monica Bellucci (age throughout)

    Anne B- Catherine Zeta Jones

    Jane- Reese Witherspoon

    AoC- Thora Birch

    Katherine H- Jenna Malone

    Catherine Parr- Kate Winslet

Based on being similiar in age and looks, and actually being decent actors. Yay or nay?

  • It's good to read other people's choices.

I like your casting, too. :)

  • I just don't see these people being them, especially Heather Grahm as Anne. Anne's supposed to be brunette. Plus Heather could never handle a role like anne. And Kirsten Dunst as Katherine of Aragon.. NO! Katherine Heigl as Anne of Cleves an even bigger NOOO!

  • Ok, I respect your opinion. I just wanna respond to one thing: "Anne's supposed to be brunette" I think hair dying can solve this problem. I want to find a pic of Hether where her hair is brown, but I coudn't.

But I understand your another argument why she couldn't play Anne Boleyn in your opinion. That's ok. :)

P.S.: Sorry for my English. That's not my native language.

  • Thanks for your comment! :)

  • You are absolutely insaneee. No WAY do any of these people look Tudor-era worthy.

  • Im likin Kristen as Howard...Heigl aint "ugly" enuff to be cleeves :P....n Im sorry but I think Dormer and Meyers are beautiful as Henry and Anne!

  • @wickerwillow Robert Kazinsky would have been absolutely perfect for Henry. My friends and I said so as soon as we heard that Showtime was making the series. Jenna Malone as Katherine Howard ? maybe not. Tamzin Mercant was ideal - though Felicity Jones or Imogen Poots would have been perfect too. Andrea Risborough or Gemma Arterton as Anne Boleyn, Sally hawkins as Jane seymour. Aiden Turner as Thomas Culpepper.

  • ROBERT KAZINSKY SHOULD HAVE PLAYED HENRY> WE SAID THAT FROM EPISODE ONE!

  • Hillary Swank as Anne Boleyn ,

Monica Belluci as Katherine of Aragon

I find Dunst a great actress but not for period pieces, I never believed her as Marie-Antoinette nor Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I

Henry VIII would need a GREAT shakespearean actor, fat can be created from by costumers but great actors that can play royalty are another story....

  • I see what you meen.. but most of your cast is American.. imagine how stupid it would sound with fake british accents.. and i LOVE Kirsten Dunst as Katherine of Aragon :D and.. Kristen Stewart in The Tudors.. that would make me puke.. sorry..

  • I see what you meen.. but most of your cast is American.. imagine how stupid it would sound with fake british accents.. and i LOVE Kirsten Dunst as Katherine of Aragon :D

  • My choices would be: Henry - Leonardo DiCaprio (think about him with red hair and a beard.) KoA - Marcia Cross Anne B - Penelope Cruz Jane S - Emilia Fox AoC - Maggie Gylenhaal Catherine Howard - Ellen Page Catherine Parr - Juliette Binoche Mary Tudor: Anne Hathaway Elizabeth Tudor: Saoirse Ronan
  • I think and agree that Catherine Zeta Jones would make a amazing Anne Boleyn :)

  • Sorry, but Kirsten Dundst does not look like a Catherine, Catherine is more of a mature looking older mother type, Kirsten's more of an Anne Boleyn or Jane Seymour, she has the face for Anne and Jane. Heather Graham as Anne, no way. Kristen Stewart as Catherin Howard, ah no, she's more of a Elizabeth type. Shannon Doherty loks more like an Anne Boleyn, not Catherine Parr. Good video, but not good representations!
