what Gandhi said was TRUE! it had nothing to do with loving your enemy. Though they are intertwined they are separately addressed, because you can love your enemy, but he will often still strike you. he wasn't provoking them to strike, he was showing courage against evil. hoping to earn respect and end hate. which is what the left cheek sermon is mostly about.

@TheCoolProfessor I'm sorry but that's not what Jesus said. In Luke, he starts with "Love your enemies" and Gandhi's not doing that, he's just looking for them to do what he wants, he would punch them back if it worked for him just as much. When I turn the other cheek, that's precistly what I'm trying not to do, he took everything I was avoiding and made a philosophy with it.

@desasterz That is what love is all about. Read an MLK speech about the three kinds of love. The third kind of love is what Jesus was talking about, when he said "love your enemies". It means show them respect while not giving away your dignity. This will stop you from being enemies.
