This game is so good...yet so stressful to watch.
-
wish i could tell what type of man-poach-zone Buzz is using. ...or is it more half zone half man-poach??
-
@lolfantastic Look closely, he drags his pivot foot after the disc is released. Pause and play the video very slowly and you'll see the disc in the air and the foot still on the ground and just a split second later he drags his foot.

Btw - Buzz Bullets = Bad Ass!
-
Sockeyes are poor sportsmen - as far as spirit of the game goes, they have almost none.
-
3:35!!!!!!!!@@@ dam should be top ten plays
-
classic...the crowd boo #6 the entire game and he shuts them up with the final score...
-
Disc leaves hand. Pivot foot moves. No travel.

@Nanis804 ah..makes a ton of sense. thanks!
To many, Ultimate's greatest strength is its spirit of the game. Yeah, sure you can try to make a fast break opportunity when the BB was stuck off field, or you can recognize his great attempt at a play and the fact that his route back to the field is blocked by spectators. This isn't some case of the BB player having laid-out and not been able to get up in time to block a pass. This is a case of the BB player being completely off the field behind spectators. Ultimate has a different spirit.

At 2:07 the BB player changes direction before he plants his pivot foot. Hence he effectively has an extra step to get away from his mark. Had the mark been forcing to the backhand side, this would have made much less of a difference, but with a straight up mark, as you have seen, all of a sudden your backhand becomes very very open.
I'm not a fan of slow games with a lot of calls, but the Sockeye mark got this one right imho.
