President Mwai Kibaki has appointed DR Nelson Githinji as the new state house controller replacing Hyslop Ipu who left the position in December last year under unexplained circumstances. Githinji is the fourth holder of highly sensitive and hot seat, if the experience of any of his predecessors is anything to go by. But Githinji comes with one distinct advantage in that he has close working ties with the first family, especially first lady Lucy Kibaki with who he has been working under Kenyan chapter of the organisation of African first ladies against hiv, among other roles.
