"I've got so much respect for Eric Clapton, and 'Lay Down Sally' was actually a crossover country hit for him. It's just one of those classic, timeless songs, which are always fun to play live. When you're a new artist, it's important to make a connection with your audience, and while playing my own songs can do that, songs like this give me an opportunity to really reach the audience and give them a chance to sing along with a song that everyone knows. I tried to make it my own so it's a little different - doing stuff like this really is one of my favorite parts of getting to sing for a living!"
