Due to a recent paralysis of Solomon's back legs an internet search was made for a dog wheel chair. A few were found and they ranged in cost from $300 to $600 with shipping. Solomon's wheelchair was made with scavenged wheels from an adult walker, pvc pipe, machine screws, and various straps from flea market finds. Hopefully he will recover and the wheelchair can be passed on to another dog.

  • glad you got a lol out of it,,, Solomon's no longer with us.. He tried very hard for two years to adjust to his paralysis. The wheelchair was a short lived idea that gave our family more comfort than him. The dog was a fighter and brought something to us more than a laugh.

  • I agree. I commend you for making your own wheelchair (I am in a financial pinch too) but the rear is definitely too high and his legs should somehow be in stirrups of some kind to keep them from dragging and getting torn up on the ground. I think with a few adjustments it will do very well for him. Good luck!

  • I could be wrong here. It appears to me as if the rear is set too high, and the dog needs stirrups. Cute though.

  • Thank You.
