Diary of Abandoned & Disabled Kitten - 19 weeks old

Forrest and I had a pretty rough week - not a lot of outdoor time (colder weather) so he was inside the house almost all week and I could not keep a diaper on him to save my soul. I have tried using a tube sock but apparently the pair I used were too tight because his diaper did not stay on despite the snug elastic fit. Any ideas????

This might sound extreme...but I heard of a dog who was paralysed and they removed his hind legs and gave him a trolley with wheels to make him more mobile and prevent sores from dragging...just looks so awkward seeing him dragging his legs. I think you are doing a grand job with him. :-)

Thanks for the info. I had thought about whether he needed his hind legs but think that at this time he is better having them - for one thing, I think his diaper would not stay up and for another I am still hoping that a miracle may happen.

I know you've probably gotten this a lot but have you ever considered a little cart to strap him to so he can wander around? He's adorable and you're doing a good thing being so dedicated to him. ^_^

Yes, I am considered this but first I have to get his diapers to stay on especially with winter stepping in and his being in the house 24/7.

Why does he have to use a diaper? Can't he control his sphincter? mmm maybe the diaper would stay if you tied it to a collar....Sorry for not having better ideas..but I have never been in a situation like this. I'm glad there are people like you in this world. He seems a very happy cat, not really conscious about having any problem or disability...

There is a wheel chair for cats. Talk to the ASPCA for the best thing to do for your cat.
