  • I've got both of his LP's, what a writer and singer of stories, fantastic, so glad I found this.

  • In the late 70's, when I worked as a radio DJ, this was on our play list. I loved it then, and I love it now... it's poetry (you're right: the lyrics say it all)...thank you.

  • Thank you, thank you! Trying to find these amazing songs nowadays is soooo difficult! I'm just thrilled all these musicians are still being listened just make me happy!

  • Good grief this take me back 35+ years. I worked in a cinema and they'd just introduced pre-recorded 8 track cartridges for the pre-show music. The cartrdges were rubbish (always going faulty) and the content was usually very similar, however one of the earlier cartridges contained this track so I wrote to the supplying company who gave me the details of the song/singer and I bought the album. This was the standout track and wonderful to hear it again.

  • One of my eternal favourites. Moving lyrics, soulful music. Thank you for the music JDR.

  • thank you for the tears...

  • Thanks for putting this up - i wasn't even sure if anyone else knew who John Dawson Read is. This song taught me to play finger style guitar.

  • this was in a book i read so i looked it up its called angry management

  • This was one of my favorite songs in 73. JDR is one of the most underrated of singer/songwriters.

  • I saw him do this on The Old Grey Whistle Test in the mid 70s....first time ive heard it since then...beautiful song...thanks for posting

    Jim

  • I wish those with access can put up more JDR music here , as I would love to hear his tunes again.
