Awesome Team Roping at the MRA Finals

Shawn Matherly (heeling) and Jason Terpening at the 2007 MRA Finals. I normally make Friesian videos but this one was long overdue. The guys loved it so thought I'd put it up for others to see too. I'm very proud of my husband for his accomplishments and glad I can make something for him this time.

What state ae you competing in?

on the site it only list arena names with no states....but good job roping, the heeler is a little slow though.....

At 01 seconds the video says Michigan MRA state finals. This was a straight 10 head- not a progressive. This team caught 8 of 10- all by 2 feet- for 2nd place in the state. Also- if you watch close- every other run is a repeat of the previous- in SLOW MOTION. :) Makes it easier for the guys to see what happened- so they can improve. They brought home a nice pocket full of money that day.

im pretty sure you trip and fall all the time, but no one says gravity is being cruel....

the calf is jus being taken down their not being one bit cruel and people dont freak out when you fall, its a fucking cow, its not gonna get hurt falling down!

@JakeCraige I heel a little but i head a bunch but ive found out a lil bit about it when you go to deliver you have your hand sideways and you kinda scoop them up then at the end you turn your hand over after it hits so you dont loose your slack but when you see it hit then turn it over. thats all i know that could help ya accept study the delivery of the top heelers i watched bucky campbell heel in arizona and ive talked to him and tve watched his loop and threw it but look for Rickey Green

I can't understand how you throw a heel loop? is it palm down or up? It has kind of a different throw to it it looks like and I'd like to know how it is supposed to be thrown.

I have a question about heeling, I cant figure it out from videos or the books i have. Are you throwing the rope palm down, to the side, or up? and is the rope thrown more vertically to scoop the legs up or still horizontally with a slant to have them step in it?

Nice heelin horse. What kind of rope is the heeler swingin? Ive been using a fastback Mach 4 and i love it. the tip is weighted perfectly. But nice job fellas.
