good points, however I think the term african american was created by jesse jackson and many blacks prefer to use the term to encompass the struggles that european-americans did not have to endure. I think the issue is more complicated than this. If you remove the ability for people to classify themselves, you remove a collective stuggle.

I suspect that this racial card that is played by the elite americans within media has something to do with keeping the minorities separated so that they fight among themselves rather than group together and overthrow the elites

lisus, hello: media in america is controlled by elite and corporations (MIT prof Noam Chomsky writes about this in detail so refer to his book for thousands of examples, he also has intereting speeches lectures and debates on youtube) unlike just about every other country. take a look at the bbc in uk, and the media in brazil. these are community owned and ran organizations that do not have the biases to the rich elites.

Great video. Only in America African-Americans are called Blacks. In ANY OTHER COUNTRY, African-Americans are called and considered AMERICANS.
In addition to that. Whenever there is a news coverage about a robbery or a theft that was done by a Black man, the newspaper will always mentioned that.
For instance: "Yesterday, Paul Jackson, an African-American broke into the house on Church Street and robbed the place"
